TASK: to look into the world of childbirth and understanding the process, creating a spatial suggestion enhancing the woman’s Geist. Considering the expectations, outcome and impact this event could have on a woman’s future attitude towards her experience. Childbirth is filled with so many complex emotions. Raw. Intense. Ranging from pure joy to complete fear. Strong yet vulnerable. You are completely omitted to the situation, the process and the surroundings. My focus lays in the sensation of birthing, through the body and mind, with a design solution of a space that fills the gap between the proactive work during pregnancy – and the childbirth event itself. A space for the initial stages of the birth process, to ground, prepare and create a better setting for the woman in her work to come.
